About Amynah Usman
Speaker, Author, Coach
I’m Amynah Usman. I coach, I speak, and I write – a dynamic combination of skills and passions to inspire, educate, and make a lasting impact on the world.

I’m a Lawyer, Social Entrepreneur, Humanitarian, Author, and Coach. My legal journey began with an LL.B (Hons) from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Nigeria, followed by an LL.M from the University of South Wales, United Kingdom. Membership in the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators in the UK and being called to the Nigerian bar have allowed me to gain experience in both the public and private sectors.
This academic foundation has equipped me with legal expertise and fueled my unwavering commitment to justice.
Beyond the courtroom, I’ve ventured into various realms, leveraging my skills to make a meaningful impact on society. As an advocate, I channel my passion for youth development, women’s inclusion in government, and increased youth participation in politics through critical conversations and collaborations.
My advocacy extends across Nigeria, where I’ve spoken on platforms addressing issues related to education, political participation in Africa, and the crucial role of women in nation-building. Whether as a regular guest on WFM 91.7, Africa’s first-ever women’s radio, or on ARISE TV and other news media platforms, I stand as a strong voice for gender inclusion.
In the business world, I’ve successfully navigated manufacturing and retailing , penetrating international markets and building a dedicated clientele over a decade. This journey has given me a unique perspective on the intersection of law, business, and societal progress.
Inspired by my husband and my father’s humanitarian legacy, I co-founded Ozohvehe Foundation, a charity in Abuja focused on women’s and children’s nutrition, well-being, and health. See www.Ozohvehe.org
I recently established Ulcer Aid, Africa’s first foundation dedicated to aiding, creating awareness, and supporting individuals dealing with stomach ulcers and digestive health issues. As part of Ulceraid, we conduct ulcer awareness drives, hospital visits, and support in paying hospital bills for those in need. www.ulceraid.org
As an author, I’ve written books aimed at reaching out to women and children, teaching them their rights and helping educate them on important matters in the world. These literary works serve as a powerful tool for empowerment, providing valuable insights into women’s rights, the well-being of children, and broader societal issues. My first book, Whispers of Resilience, was borne out of the need to show the world the plight of the Northern Nigerian woman and how she fights her way through a system rigged against her. It was a book that tore through the fabric of my essence as I delved deep into topics too triggering to dwell in.
In addition, I authored the SDG Explorers for kids between the ages of 6 and 10, aiming to teach them about Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and how they can actively get involved.
My commitment to women welfare extends to training women who aspire to start businesses but may face financial constraints. I teach them how to run successful online businesses using social media as a tool, sometimes offering guidance to empower these women to thrive in the digital age.
Drawing from a rich background, my father, a successful businessman, played a pivotal role in shaping my early understanding of business consulting. He owns several gas stations across states in Nigeria, where petroleum are sold. Additionally, He was deeply involved in haulage, providing services to construction companies with a fleet of trucks and operated as a wholesaler of building cement. His ventures extended to real estate, particularly in constructing residential homes for rental purposes. Notably, he also committed to community development by establishing a community bank to provide financial services to the people in his constituency.
I witnessed my father’s dedication to helping others, providing capital to random strangers for their start-ups, and offering mentorship on business strategies and sustainability. His teachings on financial management at an early age laid the foundation for my financial capability and responsibility.
Inspired by my father’s entrepreneurial spirit, I started my first business in 2015 – a modest fashion line named “a la mode.” I crafted unique and trendy designs to address the needs of women who sought modest yet fashionable clothing. This venture began my journey as a social entrepreneur, from sketching with pencils to sourcing fabrics and bringing my creations to life.
Amidst these professional endeavours, I find personal fulfilment as a happily married mother of two wonderful children. My family is a constant source of inspiration, reminding me of the importance of building a world that ensures a brighter future for future generations.
